Officers with the Riverside County Department of Animal Services on Monday afternoon rescued a dog from a canal in Riverside and are looking to reunite it with its owner.
John Welsh, spokesman for Animal Services, said in a press release that Officer Denise Westbrook first responded to a call from Riverside Public Works about a dog stuck in a canal near Marlborough Avenue.
